J. Barry Moody -
Executive Vice President & COO
Barry joined Salem Logistics, Inc. in 2005. Having grown up in a trucking family - his father was President of a large LTL carrier in the
Midwest - it's fair to say that his 35 years of on-the-job experience in logistics and warehousing don't tell the full story of his industry
knowledge. Barry began his career with Roadway Express and McLean Trucking Company in sales and regional operations management
positions. He served as Vice President of Operations for Builders Transport, managing over 1,600 employees with over 1,000 power units
in operation, and was later President of Deaton and Trism, both flatbed carriers. Barry currently sits on the North Carolina Trucking
Association board and has served as a board member with many civic and educational organizations. Barry and his wife Marriann have
been married for over 30 years and have two children, Patrick and Jennifer, and two grandchildren. In his spare time Barry enjoys golf,
playing and coaching ice hockey and training horses.
